Say this prayer out loud or silently to God.
God,
Thank you for allowing me the chance to feel all my feelings. Thank you Lord that I don't need to shrink back from my emotions like I have to with people. Thank you that I can trust you with my heart. Thank you that you don't use my emotions against me Abba. Thank you that you truly love me, and that you are showing me how to love you back. Thank you Lord that you never leave me when I am hard to love in the eyes of people. Please forgive me for my harsh words toward people, please help me to choose kinder words because the Bible says that kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and health to the bones (Proverbs 16:24). I know that you desire a kind and pure soul in me Lord and I cannot become that way on my own, so would you please help me Abba? I don't want to stay bitter anymore, please forgive me for that. Please forgive me for the resentment I've allowed to infect my heart Lord. Please forgive me for the lies I've believed from the enemy. I know You say that I am loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), would you please help me to love others in that way? Lord would you please help me to forgive those who have hurt me? I know Your Word says that I should forgive others the way Christ has forgiven me (Colossians 3:13) but I can't do that on my own Lord, but I am willing. I surrender my will for Yours Father. Would you please radically transform my heart Abba so that I love like you love? Would you please transform my mind so that I am quick to forgive, slow to anger and slow to speak, because I know Your Word says my human anger does not produce Godly righteousness (James 1:19-20). I repent Lord, and I ask Your forgiveness. I can't do life without You Lord, and I repent for every time I have tried to do life on my own. I can't fix myself Lord, I can't fix my problems on my own. I desperately need You Father. Please help me Father. I surrender to Your will and ask that You have Your way in me.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray,
Amen
